Freeze Motion:

Dominos: This photo was my favourite for this project because I was able to catch the motion at the perfect time and freeze it while showing the motion of them falling. This photo uses value, while the dark background emphasizes the object. I think that the movement flowing across the image allows draws more attention from the viewer.

Sparkler: For this photo I enjoy the contrasting colours of orange from the sparkler, but also Ryleigh's hair, against the green background. Another aspect of contrast is is the harsh movement of the sparklers against the soft, blurred background.

Pool Table: For my last freeze motion, I used my pool table to get the movement of the balls breaking apart from each other after being hit, so you are able to see the action that si happening. I think all the bright colours against the dark background really pulls your attention to the main focus and help see the movement happening better.

Motion Blur:

Cards: This photo took many attempts, but the final outcome really captured to whole motion of the cards being flipped up. The dark, simplified background really enhances the sense of positive space that the cards take up. I think the motion of repetition being blurred as the cards continuously flip upwards draws attention to what is happening in the photo.

Car: For this photo I had to make sure I held the camera very still so only the motion of the car was blurred. This photo used the rule of thirds by not centring the photo right in the middle to give a different angle. I think the clear focused mountains in the background really emphasize the object int he foreground, which is the car in motion.

Skating: For my last motion blur photo, I actually tried out using my phone with the live setting on and turning it into long exposure after the photo was taken. I think this photo catches the eye form how fast my friend is skating and she is not completely centre from using the rule of thirds. Her dark clothing against the lighter background also helps enhance the motion she is creating during her spin.

Panning:

Plane: This photo uses value, from turning into a b&w image, which i think adds more shadows and dimensions with the movement into the image. I think the shape of the wing going through the movement adds a cool effect to the photo that draws more attention to it. The negative space being blurred helps keep the focus of the wing of the plane as the positive space.

Swing: I really enjoy how this photo turned put because Ryleigh gliding through the screen makes the background look like a painting which is so interesting to look at from the viewers point. there are warm colours coming through the whole image from the background and the foreground from Ryleigh's hair. The black against the warm tones also adds some contrast to the image.

Car mirror: For my last panning, I really struggled to keep the camera still while Ryleigh was driving and there would be bumps on the road. But I think I got a clear image with the background having one smooth movement to it. I like how there are different cool colours from the green trees, and the blue car, with the grey tones form the road, along with my sweater. I think the blurred trees creating a line pattern through their movement help draw the attention towards the subject that is in focus.
